Youngest wildcard ever........
12 year old Pauline ADO, from Hendaye in France, has won the wild card spot for the RIP CURL GIRL´S FESTIVAL. The young surfer, who earlier this year came fourth in the Coupe de France, will be up against the world´s best.
Marie Pierre Abgrall, France´s WCT heroine had this advice to give her:
"Just enjoy yourself and show the people what you can do. Take advantage of the fact that at this busy time of year you will be lucky enough to be one of only four people in the water!"
The crowd might not be in the water, but they will definitely be on the beach!
Surfer Magazine´s number one junior wins wildcard
Jamie O´ Brien, who was voted Surfer Magazine´s favourite junior surfer, has been given a wild card spot for the RIP CURL PRO.
"I am really excited about competing in the Rip Curl Pro. It is a legendary event and I feel lucky to have won the wild card."
The other two spots go to Pablo Gutierrez and Simon Marchand. These surfers are this year´s lucky ones, who will go straight through to the main event, jumping the first rounds.
