WSL QS Men's and Women's event
Basse-Pointe, Martinique France
1 - 6 April 2017

Swell expected for Thursday with morning call set at 7:30am

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 6 April, 2017 - Conditions at Basse-Pointe have prompted organizers to call for another lay day at the Martinique Surf Pro. Similar two-to-three foot surf is breaking today but the inconsistency doesn’t allow competition to resume.

The QS3,000 Martinique Surf Pro completed the first four rounds of competition in firing surf over the first three days of the event’s waiting period and has since then suffered a holding pattern.

“Conditions are very similar to what they were yesterday unfortunately,” Mikel Zalakain, WSL Europe head judge said. “We were waiting for a little bump around lunchtime but the new swell is a little slow to show up. The forecast shows good signs of real improvement for Thursday so we’ll reconvene early to reassess conditions.”

Event officials have set a 7:30AM Call Thursday

The Martinique Surf Pro is scheduled from April 1-8, 2017 at Basse Pointe, Martinique - France. For all results, photos, video highlights and press releases, log on to
