Chinese champs crowned at Dong Chong Point, Shenzhen



China Surfing Champs

First China Surfing Championships held on the mainland coast in Shenzhen

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 December, 2017 - For the first time in China surfing history the 2017 China Surfing Championships were held on the mainland coast at Dong Chong Point, Shenzhen.

The championships, the first of two rounds, were contested in four divisions, Men’s short and longboard and Women’s short and longboard.

Head Judge Peter “PT” Townend commented “This was the first time where all of China’s best surfers came together to showcase their skills and we were fortunate to have three days of one metre waves on a strong sandbank that allowed for some high performance surfing”.

Round two of the China Surfing Championships will now move to Hainan Island at Riyue Bay on December 20-21st and which time the 2017 Chinese Surfing Champions will be declared.

The 2017 China Surfing Championships are hosted by the Chinese Extreme Sports Association(CESA) headquartered in Beijing.

The Round One Championship was directed by John Yang and the Shenzhen Surfing Association.
