San Clemente's Chris Ward is a controversial regularfooter, once known for his wild antics, hard partying, and silky-smooth, ultra radical approach to riding waves. Wardo's career was launched in the mid-90s, as he appeared in then brand new Lost... Enterprises' surf films, What's Really Goin On, 5'5 x 19 1/4, Lost Across America, etc. During the 2000s, Wardo made several runs at the CT, finishing 2008 ranked 14th. Widely considered one of the most influential surfers of the late-90s, and 2000s, Wardo is always someone to watch in heavy surf, especially during the Hawaiian leg, where he consistently wows crowds at Pipe, Haleiwa, and especially Sunset.
