Aussie competitive surfer creates labels for sponsor nudie Juice

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 9 February, 2017 - Felicity Palmateer is an accomplished competitor, artist and conservationist, so it is little wonder that nudie Juice have introduced her  art designs to a limited edition range of their orange juice labels.

The limited-edition label was designed to celebrate the nudie Australian Boardriders Battle - the biggest grassroots club series in the sport's history. In 2016/17, it involved more than 60 of Australia’s best boardriders clubs in eight state qualifying rounds and will culminate in a National Final in Newcastle, NSW on Feb 17-19.

The labels are available for the month of February in all major supermarkets and independent stores. 

“We are super excited to bring Flick’s design work to market on our ‘nudie nothing but 21* oranges’ range,” Brooke Tierney, Monde Nissin Head of Marketing.

“Not only does it showcase her amazing skills as an artist but it also allows us  to bring a little bit of the nudie Australian Board Riders Battle to those who may not be at the event in Newcastle. We are proud to have Flick as our ambassador and look forward to creating good with her across more designs in the future.”

Incorporating Flick’s signature colourful pattern work, the labels will run across the nudie ‘nothing but 21* oranges range and feature Flick herself as the nudie character. 

"It's such a pleasure to be able to work with a brand like nudie,” said Palmateer. 

“Their intentions and ethos are so positive. I love that they support surfing, I'm proud to be an ambassador and to be able to undertake this artistic collaboration with them is exciting. The final design is something simple, yet fun and playful - we created a wave, incorporated some of my recent mandala art in the background and of I love that our little nudie surfer is a girl, in a cute little bikini and with blonde hair (of course!)."

nudie is a major partner of Surfing Australia and ensures the sustainability of key Surfing Australia programs including the nudie Australian Boardriders Battle along with the nudie Australian Adaptive Surfing Titles, the Surf for Life Project, Soldier On Surf Therapy Program and the Australian Surfing Awards incorporating the Hall of Fame. 

nudie’s ethos of ‘creating good’ and Surfing Australia’s purpose of creating a happier and healthier Australia through surfing are perfectly aligned.
