Toledo is now part of Gopro Team
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 10 March, 2016 - Filipe Toledo stepped onto a surfboard with the help of his father, before his first birthday. By the time he was three years old, the Sao Paulo native began surfing on his own. He started competing in contests when he was only six, quickly falling in love with the sport. He continued to develop his craft, winning event after event, eventually joining the World Surf League Championship Tour in 2013.
Last year, during the 2015 WSL season, Filipe achieved his biggest accomplishment to date -winning three stops on the World Tour. Now twenty years old, Filipe is currently ranked 4th in the world and kicks off the 2016 WSL season on the Gold Coast at Snapper Rocks.
"I feel blessed to be a pro surfer and have the opportunity to surf the best waves around the world. GoPro has changed the way we watch surfing and the partnership with GoPro has truly made me happier and more passionate about surfing. I can share different angles of surfing with my fans and family," says Toledo.
Filipe's Expert Tip: Don’t forget to lick the lens – you don’t want a water drop on it.
Filipe's Favorite GoPro Mount: I like to use the mouth mount, but I also like The Handler - I’ve captured some crazy stuff with it. When it’s small I like to shoot photos, but when it’s big I like filmin.
