If John John Florence wins this event he takes the title
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 23 October, 2016 - A lay day at the MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal has all remaining surfers feeling anxious as Finals day closes in and John John Florence is one step closer to possibly claiming the World Title.
According to WSL Hawaii Florence can claim the 2016 WSL World Title at this event under a number of scenarios. If he wins this event he takes the title. If he places 2nd and Jordy Smith isn’t the winner, Florence also claims the title. A high pressured final day looms for the talented Hawaiian.
Second place title contender Gabriel Medina was knocked out in an earlier round.
