The lanky goofy-footer Owen Wright represents Australia in good form in all wave conditions. He had a successful rookie year on the dream tour, finishing 7th, and notably beating Parko at Backdoor. In 2011 he finished 3rd overall, with an exciting win over Kelly Slater at the Quiksilver Pro New York in Long Island. Owen comes from good surfing genetics—his younger sister Tyler is a top competitor on the Women’s World Tour.
