Reunion still reeling from fatal attack in February

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 1 May, 2017 - Bodyboarder Adrien Dubosc was killed this weekend in a fatal shark attack at Pointe au Sel on the French island of Reunion.

Dubosc was with friends when a shark of an unidentified species latched onto him in an aggressive attack. Soon after the attack the bodyboarder bled to death from his wounds.

"The young man was in the water with two friends, when a shark attacked him, biting his right thigh, and his groin area," said a local police spokesman told the Metro UK "The victim was pulled out of the water, and emergency workers arrived very quickly. Despite cardiac massage, he died within half an hour of the attack."

According to reports it was a busy day at the beach and some of the victims family were there at the time of the attack.

Dubosc worked on the island for the Shark Watch Patrol and had a healthy respect for the animals. Two months earlier one of his close friends was attacked and killed by a shark nearby.
