"Alexander Road" includes collaborations with Joey Waronker of Atoms For Peace, Mikael Jorgensen and Gabe Noel
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 4 April, 2017 - Salt Life team member Tim Curran announced the release of his fourth album Alexander Road. The album was independently released and produced by Jesse Seibenberg at Brotheryn Studios in Ojai, California.
It includes collaborations with Joey Waronker of Atoms For Peace, Mikael Jorgensen of Wilco and Gabe Noel whose credits have appeared with artists such as Kenny Loggins and Foster The People. Alexander Road is available today on iTunes, Amazon and the online store.
Curran wrote or co-wrote every track, and the result is a highly personal project that will resonate with fans. "A few of the songs were inspired from my own personal life experiences and the others are about what I have seen some of my closest friends going through,” Curran says. Many of the songs on the record were written as is if I'm singing from their shoes."
The surfer turned singer-songwriter joined Team Salt Life in 2015. Before retiring to focus on his musical career, Curran competed for several years in the World Tour Of Surfing and is considered to be one of the pioneers of surfing's "Aerial Revolution" of the late 1990s. He is famous for creating a new maneuver called the Alley Oop, a full rotation, upside-down flip in two-foot surf at Rocky Point in Hawaii during winter of 2005. This popular aerial achievement has become known worldwide as simply "The Flip.”
Curran is actively involved in several organizations, including The Young & Brave Foundation, which raises funds and support for people affected by cancer.
