Small clean waves were on offer at for participants at final Jan Juc event

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 14 March, 2017 - After two weeks travelling the Victorian coastline, the #ISURFWITH Tour has concluded with an epic session at Jan Juc Beach. Small clean waves were on offer at for participants, with copious opportunities available for those eager to show their skills.

13 young males joined the Surfing Victoria Performance Division staff, featuring former professional WQS surfer and Surfing Victoria High Performance Coaching Director Cahill Bell-Warren and 9 x Victorian Indigenous Surfing Champion Jordie Campbell.

All participants were shown an elite warm up program and some crucial water safety skills before getting in the water and learning from two of Victoria’s elite athletes and high performance coaches.

The surfers worked on a wide range of skills, valuable assets for improving performance levels. Program coach Campbell enjoyed the final session of the Victorian tour.

"The energy from the kids is infectious!" said Campbell. "Every headland we come around, around every corner of the state is another great surf community littered with great junior surfers. Finishing at Jan Juc was great, the boys really pushed themselves and worked really hard to implement the coaching and water safety messages Cahill and I delivered”.

The aim of the #isurfwith Victorian Tour presented by Play It Safe By The Water is to use positive male role models and professional surf coaches from Surfing Victoria to pass on their skills and knowledge to the next generation of male surfers.

An exciting addition to this year’s program is all participants in the program go in the draw to win a brand new surfboard. Thanks to Global Surf Industries participants in the program will have the chance to win a new 7S Double Down board just by being part of the tour.

One local boy in the program also took home a pack from #isurfwith tour supporter Quiksilver.

The program will also feature essential water safety elements to improve the participants of ocean environments and provide all with essential skills to help keep others safe in the water.

The #ISURFWITH Victorian tour is presented by Play It Safe By The Water and  supported by Surfing Victoria, HIF Australia, Global Surf Industries, Quiksilver, Cancer Council Sunscreen and VicHealth.
