Duvignac came back over Charly Martin at the very end of the final

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 25 October, 2016 - Vincent Duvignac has claimed his third French Championships Open title. The Mimizan local surfed fast and flawless in the stormy conditions yesterday at La Grande Plage, Biarritz. Originally added to the Rip Curl Europe team as free surfer, Vincent was out of competition this year but made an exception for this special event that gathers France's best competitors.

Begining from round 1, Duvignac easily made his way to the final where he met Charly Martin, Médi Véminardi and Lens Arancibia. Martin and Duvignac battled hard choosing the southern end of the beach. Martin had the lead for most of the heat until the last few minutes when Duvignac came back with an amazing carve to take the title.

In Men's Longboard category, Emilien Fleury took the surprise win against the Delpero brothers. Battling for first and second place until the last 90 seconds Antoine & Edouard saw Fleury make an endless hangfive on the bomb of the series which took him from fourth to first place.

In Woman longboard division, Justine Mauvin win his second title succeeding Justin Dupont, who missed the event this year.
