Crew discovers everything from millions of small plastic wheels to pathogenic bacteria
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 27 March, 2017 - The European documentary "White Waves" explores the work of several surfers doing what they can to protect the ocean and keep it clean. The documentary film makers traveled for two years along the beaches of Europe to meet these surfers and discover a lot of previously unknown types of pollution.
"Litter, wastewater, industrial products and chemicals – it is all ending up in the sea," says director Inka Reichert. "There are some people that observe and feel the pollution day by day with their own body: surfers. Their love of nature and the water gives them the strength to go out, investigate and search for the source of the pollution."
